#8 Find the right shade
Choosing a foundation that perfectly matches your complexion can be a challenging task. Skin tone generally changes from season to season, so sometimes it can get a perfect match. You don’t want to use a color that may be too yellow, pale or dark for your face because it won’t look natural or blend in with the rest of your skin.
To ensure that your foundation is constantly matching, I would suggest switching up the foundation you use depending on the season. I have found that getting matched at Sephora, Ulta, or other stores that sell makeup is helpful because the people who work there have a lot of experience working with makeup. It is much better to have this done by a professional, so that you don’t waste money on a foundation that doesn’t suit your skin tone.
Also, if you would like to save money, I would suggest buying a more expensive foundation for whichever season lasts the longest. Since I live in NY, I buy pricier foundation for the colder winter months, than in the warmer months, because I will get more use out of it. Since it is only warm for about 3-4 months here, I generally don’t spend as much money on a summer foundation because it will get old and dried out sitting in my drawer all winter.
This works for me because I don’t wear foundation on an everyday basis, however, it is definitely not something for everyone.
