#3 Prime your face
(Although this step is listed third, this should go before color corrector.)
There are so many reasons why primer is essential in having flawless face makeup. First off, it fills your pores, wrinkles and fine lines so that makeup can go on your face more smoothly. It is better for your skin than just putting foundation on because that can clog your pores. I used to get a lot of acne by doing that and now that I’ve added primer to my routine, my skin has improved.
Another use for primer is to make your makeup last longer. If you are going to event or you need your makeup to stay put all day, primer is a necessity. I have noticed that especially in the summer months, if I am not wearing primer, my makeup will slide off my face. I don’t wear it everyday, but when I am going out or going somewhere important, this is something I would never forget to incorporate into my routine.
I never apply face makeup with my hands with the exception of primer because it helps work the product into your skin. I’ve been using the Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer ($6.99) and it works great! I highly recommend this product because it makes your skin super soft and it’s also an affordable drug store product.
Another primer I am looking to try when mine runs out is the highly raved about Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer ($32).
Let me know of any other primers that you would suggest trying!
